Hefty Foodie’s Quick Bites and Random Cravings: Hershey’s Special Dark – Sugar Free
July 22, 2012 in dessert, quick bites
I’m a big fan of Dark Chocolates; it has a more pronounced chocolate taste and is not too sweet.
Second on my Quick Bites and Random Cravings series of posts – Hershey’s Special Dark Chocolate. Like I said on my previous quick bites post; This is not like my ordinary restaurant review post, it’s about some random cravings that I munch on or quick bites / snacks that I really like. I’m also doing this to practice and improve my food photography skills with a more controlled lighting setup.
Like I said in my previous posts I’m not really a professional photographer, but taking pictures of food is one thing that I enjoy most (other than eating
) when I blog about my food trips. I used 3 lights for this shoot and I really think anyone can do this, it’s really quite simple.
It’s really simple setup used two desk lamps to light the sides and some tracing paper to diffuse the light. I also used a roll of the tracing paper for the background and place a small light there to illuminate the background. Oh yeah enough of the photography and whatnots, I’ll continue with this awesome chocolate treat.
Oh yes, it’s sugar free!
Guilt free indulgence it is! It’s a nice treat for the sweet tooth without having to worry about your sugar levels so that’s always nice.
Though one thing that’s really grueling when taking pictures of food is fighting the urge to grab a fork / spoonful of the yummy stuff that’s right in front of you. Seriously, it’s not an easy feat! =))
For this shot I stacked some of the chocolate bars, I wanted to make a more interesting shot so I tried to melt some of it and dropped a dollop of the chocolate at the top of the stack. Though I’m not really knowledgeable in food styling so it’s not as natural looking as I’d like it to be.
Love how the chocolate is not too sweet and had a strong chocolate taste, its dark chocolate so that’s given. It’s a simple and yummy chocolate treat for our sweet tooth’s delight.

Undeniably I love chocolate and now reading and seeing the chocolates …I’m craving for it.
Wow! I Love Food and You are Amazing, Chocolates are my Favorite

Thanks for sharing your photography tricks, I don’t do this on my food blog, i just point and shoot,so my photos are just ordinary. Chocolates are irresistible.

Dark chocolate is healthy to eat. Even more if sugar free, just like these Hershey’s. I better grab them on local stores here in Riyadh…
I melted at the sight of that melted Hershey’s chocolate! Now I’m craving for it. Effective post.
) Btw, I’ve been to Hershey, Pennsylvania (where the chocolate originated) and you can really smell chocolate in the air there.
interesting passions, food and photography… you’ve got good equipment there… it is challenging to take chocolates foto/styling them esp. those with high butter content since they melt so easily…
ohhh! I never knew Hershey’s have sugar-free already, my Dana would love this, we would her sugar-free chocolates at Health Options which is at P150 per bar. Is this available at local grocery stores already?
nakakatakam! Hopefully soon Ill be able to get a decent job, I will buy a camera because I love food photography too!

Oh-kei… this just made me salivate! hahah!! Nice shots!
I can attest that chocolates can be mouth watering.
i got more interested in your photography than the chocolates. heheh…
Looks pretty delicious and my mouth is watering by just looking at it. But your pictures are just amazingly great and stunning.
Good thing you were able to take pictures of your chocolates.
On the photography side, try taking pictures of your food using available light first. Then try to check if you need quality or quantity of light. Just my f/2 thoughts as I have yet to do my own lighting set-up soon. ^_^
tHOSE drIpping chocolate make my saliva drip as well. I’m out here already!
